This morning, I was thinking about my previous self and what my life looked like 10 years ago.
I remember constantly asking myself, ‘What’s my purpose!?‘
I felt frustrated, directionless, and didn’t have a clue on what next steps to take.
If you can relate, it may be worth the deep dive into discovering how you make decisions – and how you determine if something has a ‘good‘ or ‘bad‘ outcome.
The reason being — if your answer is dependent on
Perhaps there is a ‘sense of self’ you left behind on your journey.
When you leave behind your sense of self, of course it’s hard to see your ‘purpose.’ It’s hard enough to simply even know what you *like* in general – nonetheless something as big as your life direction.
If this is you, I bet you find you’re asking yourself, ‘I wonder if this person likes me‘ – in both friendships and romantic relationships. Not necessarily in an overly insecure way, but just a present thought that lives with you.
You’re not alone and there’s nothing wrong with you.
Your decision evaluator just needs a little tweaking, that’s all.
I’d invite you to simply begin noticing when these feelings come up.
And let’s say you *do* have a small inkling that you know what you want to do next (sometimes it’s too scary to even admit it!), but each time you sit to begin on that dream — the fear comes rushing over you.
Ask yourself,
‘How will I feel in 6 months if I don’t take steps toward this?’
Show up for that person.
Show up today for the person you’ll be in 6 months from now.
Because those noticings of your feelings and actions – they will slowly turn into tiny behavior change.
That behavior change will transform into trusting yourself.
And that trust in yourself will turn into awareness of your self.
And one day, you’ll realize all those tiny, minuscule changes have become clarity.
And that’s where your real purpose and direction lives.
Big dreams start with small changes.
And you already have what it takes.
